Security Officer (SORA Required)

Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Part-Time Security Officer (SORA Required) to help maintain a safe and secure environment at a commercial property located in East Hanover, NJ 07936. This position is responsible for conducting routine building patrols, monitoring the premises, and responding appropriately to security concerns while providing exceptional customer service to tenants and visitors. The ideal candidate is reliable, observant, professional, and committed to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.

Schedule:

• Monday – Thursday: 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
• Approximately 30.5 hours per week

Pay:

• Starting at $16.00 per hour

Duties

• Conduct routine interior and exterior building patrols.
• Monitor the property and report suspicious activity or security concerns.
• Control access to the property and verify authorized entry when required.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
• Prepare accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.
• Provide courteous customer service to tenants, visitors, and contractors.
• Work closely with property management and law enforcement when necessary.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey SORA License is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous security experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to walk, stand, and patrol the property for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and a dependable work ethic.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
