The role combines employee relations, recruiting, benefits and leave administration, performance management, compliance, employee development, HR systems, and oversight of payroll-related administration. The right candidate will be comfortable moving between strategic improvement work and the daily realities of supporting office, yard, and field employees.

· Advise managers on coaching, feedback, corrective action, performance improvement, conflict resolution, attendance, and other employee matters.

· Conduct or coordinate workplace investigations and maintain appropriate documentation.

· Promote a respectful, collaborative, and productive work environment across office, yard, and field operations.

Recruiting and the Employment Lifecycle

· Manage full-cycle recruiting for approximately five to ten hires per month, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer letters, and pre-employment activities.

· Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs, establish selection criteria, and maintain timely hiring processes.

· Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation across company locations, as well as employee offboarding and exit processes.

· Monitor recruiting, turnover, and retention trends and recommend improvements.

Benefits, Compensation, and Leave

· Administer employee benefit programs and serve as a primary contact for employees, brokers, carriers, and other providers.

· Manage FMLA, Colorado FAMLI, disability-related leave, and other applicable federal, state, and company leave programs.

· Support compensation administration, including job documentation, pay changes, market reviews, internal equity considerations, benefit renewals, and compensation planning.

Payroll and HR Administration Oversight

· Supervise the payroll and HR administrative employee, establish priorities, provide guidance, and support professional development.

· Provide oversight of payroll-related processes and help ensure employee data, compensation changes, deductions, benefit elections, and employment actions are accurate and timely in Paylocity.

· Partner with Administration and Finance leadership to resolve payroll issues and strengthen processes and controls.

· Oversee related HR administrative services, including employment verifications and payroll records.

Performance, Development, Systems, and Compliance

· Develop and administer performance-management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, and performance improvement plans.

· Identify organizational training needs and coordinate employee learning, development, engagement, communication, and retention initiatives.

· Maintain accurate, complete, confidential, and appropriately secured employee records in Paylocity and related systems.

· Prepare HR reports and workforce metrics and improve HR workflows, documentation, recordkeeping, and system utilization.

· Develop, update, communicate, and consistently administer HR policies and procedures.

· Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements, including wage-and-hour, leave, benefits, recordkeeping, and employment-practice requirements.

· Manage unemployment claims and coordinate with Safety on employee-related aspects of workers' compensation matters, including leave, accommodations, benefits, and return-to-work issues.

Required Qualifications
