Role Description This full-time, on-site role is based in Newark, NJ for company drivers. We are looking for Owner Operators in the Poconos, PA, Buffalo, NY and Erie, PA area. Day-to-day responsibilities include safely operating trucks on assigned routes, completing pickups and deliveries on schedule, and following all DOT and company safety regulations. Drivers will inspect and maintain their vehicles, complete required logs and documentation, and communicate with dispatch about route changes, delays, and customer needs. The role also involves interacting with customers in a professional manner during loading and unloading, ensuring cargo is handled properly and any issues are reported promptly. Owner operators will additionally manage aspects of their equipment upkeep and coordinate closely with the company on load planning.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Truck Driving skills and experience operating commercial Trucks in varied traffic and weather conditions.
- Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A license and a clean driving record in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service abilities to represent the company professionally during deliveries and pickups.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance, familiarity with electronic log devices (ELDs), reliability with time management, and prior experience in regional or long-haul freight.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, adhere to all safety standards, and pass required background checks and drug screenings.
