Job Summary
The ContinuousImprovement Coordinator position will assist with developing and maintaining standards throughout the production areas to drive a continuous improvement culture. Assist with reducing or eliminating waste and promote environmental awareness through coaching and training. And assist in implementation of new programs and process improvements and maintain consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain standards driving continuous improvement on the production floor.
- Understand all current processes and standards in the production facilities.
- Brainstorm with Plant staff and Management on process improvements.
- Provide continuous review of departmental processes to improve overall efficiencies.
- Lead, coach and train -
- Be visible, assume leadership, and assist in developing and promoting all aspects of Health and safety as it pertains to OSHA, state regulations, company policies and procedures.
- Coach Supervisors and Leads to see the gap between the ideal and current situation needing improvement.
- Be a leader of change, develop, learn and implement new processes and promote them.
- Teach and advocate lean principles on the production floor
- Executing and implementing programs and process improvements.
- Understand expectations of plant management and assist when needed.
- Root cause issues in the processes and implement recommended changes.
- Implement new and improved processes.
- Assist in launching new programs within the business.
Qualifications
- Education
- Minimum Required: Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Preferred: Courses in Lean manufacturing and/or Business Management.
- Experience
- Minimum Required: 2 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred: 2 years working in a in manufacturing environment focused on lean manufacturing implementation.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Strong technical background and a general understanding of a manufacturing process
- Fluent in English (verbal, reading, writing)
- Experience using a computer
- Preferred: Familiarity with TS16949 or IATF 16949, and Environmental Management System and OSHA Requirements
Working Conditions
The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:
- Must be able to travel with short notice
- Office setting with a manufacturing environment with minimal leadership assignments.
- Frequent exposure to weather elements, chemical, robotics, industrial manufacturing and automotive vehicles.
- Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor
