The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District is looking for a Team Chair for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Summary: The Special Education Team Chair, under the direction of the Director of Student Services, provides supervision and administrative leadership for special education programming. The Team Chair is knowledgeable about special education best practices; relevant Federal and State laws, regulations and advisories; curriculum development, and instructional techniques in promoting the educational development of each student. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ●Oversees the process of Special Education referral evaluation and program planning for students in assigned schools ●Acts as Chair for TEAM meetings as assigned by the Director of Student Services; at TEAM meetings facilitates discussion of student performance, evaluation results, synthesizes and clarifies student learning needs; if there is not consensus takes into consideration member input to make the District’s determination ●Maintains the authority to commit District resources when chairing TEAM meetings ●Coordinates procedural continuity across the special education department, including timelines, forms and services ●Schedules TEAM meetings within designated timelines, coordinating with staff and parents/guardians ●Actively monitors student progress towards meeting IEP goals and curriculum expectations ●Supports programmatic continuity of specialized special education programs ●Assists with the coordination and oversight of contracted services ●Provides input for the development of the special education budget ●Coordinates student transition planning as part of the IEP process ●Provides professional development and training, and leads special education department meetings ●Supports planning for a district-wide continuum of services including Extended Year Programming for students eligible for such services ●Maintains appropriate special education records including referral, evaluation and IEP documentation ●Collaborates with and provides information to staff regarding the appropriate pre-referral, referral and evaluation policies and procedures of students suspected of needing special education ●Advises on the design and implementation of student support teams ●Ensures students requiring special education have access to the general education curriculum ●Ensures students participate in the district level screenings/assessments and the state-wide assessment program (MCAS and MCAS Alternate) ●Collaborates with special education and related services staff, building support staff and general education staff in the appropriate delivery of special education services ●Evaluates building based staff as assigned ●Represents the district in Special Education initiatives as assigned by the Director of Student Services ●Other responsibilities as assigned

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
