SALARY
CL-32: $3,842 (Step A)
The compensation shall be paid at the step of the higher classification which is at least five (5) percent greater than the
bargaining unit member's monthly salary, including any longevity increment.
DEPARTMENT Printing

STATUS/ASSIGNMENT Temporary/Approximately 3 months
SCHEDULE/HOURS Monday – Thursday / 6:30 a.m. to 4p.m. – Friday/6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
SUMMARY: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in department operations by providing a wide variety of technical work direction, guidance and information; participate in department activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: two years of college-level course work in graphics, specialized computer studies or related field and two years of increasingly responsible experience in graphics/print shop operations; or four years increasingly responsible experience in graphics/print shop operations including specialized computer graphics skills.

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in department operations by providing a wide variety of technical work direction, guidance and information; participate in department activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in organizing and overseeing the day to day activities of the department. Perform complex duties to relieve the supervisor of administrative detail; assist supervisor in directing full and part time employees and services; assist in the hiring of part-time staff.
Coordinate the department's computerized tracking system operation including job ticket entries and tracking report generation; research and perform cost analysis of supply items; make cost adjustments when necessary; submit reports to College President and Business Manager.
Assist supervisor in budget preparation; test and recommend supply purchases.
Estimate needed quantities and order supplies and materials for equipment such as high-volume computerized digital copiers, presses and plate makers.
Maintain computerized records and prepare reports.
Coordinate and consult with staff on appropriate equipment and materials for the production of a job request; assist in prioritizing printing jobs.
Communicate with staff on cost effective printing and darkroom capabilities.
In conjunction with Business Services, Purchasing, and the Warehouse, estimate needed quantities, and order and receive supplies utilizing the computerized inventory system.
Participate in all department activities as necessary to assure quality and timeliness of service.
Operate a wide variety of complex xeroxing and computer machines and peripheral equipment including high-volume copiers, bindery equipment, computers and printers.

Operate a variety of printing/duplicating equipment including high speed copiers, stapler/stitcher, three-hole punch, electronic cutter, spiral, tape and velo binders, folding and padding machines.
Maintain stock and supplies at appropriate level utilizing computerized inventory system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Print shop environment; subject to fumes; constant exposure to noise from equipment; standing for long periods of time; lifting up to 50 pounds.
