The Warehouse Associate, Wire Cutter is responsible for supporting warehouse operations with a primary focus on wire cutting and inventory management. This role operates wire-cutting equipment, optimizes material usage per reel, and maintains accurate wire and pipe inventory levels. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Duties
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate wire-cutting machinery safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report unsafe conditions, malfunctions, or hazards immediately.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Accurately calculate and document top and bottom footage on completed cuts.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations to maximize yield from master reels.
- Utilize partial reels and coils effectively to fulfill customer orders.
- Process wire orders and prepare materials for shipment, prioritizing urgent and expedited requests.
- Inspect wire for defects or damage and communicate material discrepancies or shortages to appropriate departments.
- Ensure all batched and managed materials are properly labeled and inventoried as required.
- Maintain organized and accurate wire and pipe stock locations, ensuring materials are stored in correct bin locations.
- Report stock-outs, inventory discrepancies, and other inventory-related concerns promptly.
- Accurately pick customer orders and ensure all associated documentation is completed and filed correctly.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with certification requirements.
- Support general warehouse operations as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver merchandise to customers as required, adhering to safe driving and loading practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.
- Contribute ideas to improve warehouse processes and operational efficiency.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior warehouse experience required.
- Wire cutting experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification).
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse safety practices strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn warehouse management systems.

- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
- Ability to enter and exit cargo vans.
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, and lifting.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in a fast-paced environment.
