The Warehouse Associate – Shipping & Receiving is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the warehouse by accurately receiving, inspecting, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and delivering merchandise. This position plays a vital role in ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining organized warehouse operations, and providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
The Warehouse Associate – Shipping & Receiving is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, productivity, and customer service. This individual works collaboratively with warehouse personnel, sales staff, and delivery drivers to ensure products are received, stored, and distributed efficiently while contributing to a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping & Receiving
· Receive inbound shipments, including UPS, FedEx, LTL freight, vendor shipments, and intercompany transfers, ensuring all products are accurately counted, inspected for damage, and verified against purchase orders and packing slips.
· Unload incoming deliveries safely using appropriate material handling equipment.
· Accurately enter receiving information into the company's inventory management system and complete all required receiving documentation.
· Report shipment discrepancies, shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, or shipping errors to management promptly.
· Prepare and process outgoing customer shipments through UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers, and other approved shipping methods.
· Package products securely to prevent damage during transit while ensuring shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
· Process Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs), including preparing merchandise for return, completing required documentation, and coordinating vendor shipments.
· Maintain organized shipping and receiving records in accordance with company procedures.
Order Fulfillment & Inventory
· Accurately pick customer orders using pick tickets or electronic inventory systems while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
· Verify products, quantities, and order information before staging or shipping.
· Pack customer orders securely and efficiently to ensure timely shipment.
· Stock incoming inventory promptly in designated warehouse locations while maintaining proper inventory organization.
· Rotate inventory as appropriate and maintain accurate inventory locations.
· Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation efforts.
· Notify management of inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or low stock levels.
Warehouse Operations
· Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with company safety standards.
· Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies while using warehouse equipment and handling materials.
· Assist in loading and unloading company delivery vehicles as needed.
· Properly secure merchandise to minimize damage during storage and transportation.
· Perform general warehouse maintenance and assist with special projects as assigned.
· Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Customer Service & Delivery Support
· Deliver products to customers in a safe, professional, and courteous manner when required.
· Verify delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures when applicable.
· Build positive relationships with customers by providing friendly, responsive, and professional service.
· Collaborate with the Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
· Resolve customer concerns related to deliveries or order discrepancies by communicating promptly with management.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
· Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and other departments to meet operational goals.
· Maintain open communication with supervisors regarding workload, inventory issues, and operational concerns.
· Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, organization, safety, and overall processes.
· Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other warehouse functions as business needs require.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory control, or distribution experience preferred.
· Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred.
· Experience within the electrical supply, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
· Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
· Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment.
· Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
· Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed.
· Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
· Manual dexterity sufficient to handle small parts, operate scanners, and use warehouse equipment.
· Primarily performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and moderate noise levels.
