Estimator & Project Manager Job Description


Summary


As an integral member of our Operations team at Gross Construction, the Estimator/Project Manager plays a vital role in shaping our project success. This dual role is responsible for managing both the estimating processes from pre-bids to post-bids and overseeing the execution of projects. The role demands maintaining submittals, forecasting schedules, analyzing subcontractor pricing, establishing company rates, and building strong relationships with customers and suppliers. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities for this position.

What You Will Do in Your Role


  • Project Estimating and Managing: Participating in the project estimating process, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in bids and proposals. Analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates. Oversee project execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Pre-Bids and Post-Bids: Collaborate with project teams during pre-bid meetings to gather information and insights. Conduct post-bid analyses to refine estimating processes based on project outcomes.
  • Submittals Management: Prepare and submit accurate and timely project submittals to clients, adhering to project specifications. Manage documentation and project compliance from start to finish.
  • Schedule Forecasting and Project Planning: Forecast project schedules in collaboration with project management teams, ensuring realistic timelines and resource allocation. Plan and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Sub-Contractor and Supplier Coordination: Source and evaluate sub-contractor pricing, negotiating competitive rates to enhance project cost-effectiveness. Collaborate closely with suppliers, negotiating terms and fostering partnerships to secure favorable pricing and ensure timely material delivery.
  • Company Rates Establishment: Analyze cost factors and market conditions to establish and update company rates.
  • Customer and Supplier Relationships: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction. Serve as the main point of contact for customers, stakeholders, and teams throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Proven experience as an Estimator and Project Manager in the construction industry, with a track record of successfully delivered projects.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and project management skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of leading teams and managing client relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Salary : $75,000 - $130,000
