Position Overview:
The Rental Car Assistant is responsible for assisting customers with rental vehicle pick-ups and returns, this role works closely with both the service and sales departments to deliver a smooth, professional, and efficient rental process for every customer.
This position will also serve as a porter, service agent (vehicle cleaner), and Rental Agent trainee.
Compensation:
This is an hourly rate position - $20.00 Per Hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and assist with rental car pick-ups and returns
- Assist with rental agreements and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately
- Inspect vehicles before and after rental for damage, cleanliness, and fuel levels
- Coordinate rental vehicle availability and vehicle movements on the lot
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, damage reports, and rental details
- Work closely with the service department to manage rental car reservations and scheduling
- Assist with vehicle cleaning and light detailing when needed
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Previous customer service or automotive dealership experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with rental management software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
