Position Overview:
The Automotive Reconditioning Manager is responsible for managing the complete reconditioning process for pre-owned vehicles, ensuring all vehicles meet company and industry standards for safety, appearance, and performance before being placed for sale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the reconditioning department
- Manage workflow for vehicle inspections, detailing, mechanical repairs, bodywork, and final quality checks
- Coordinate with service, sales, and inventory teams to prioritize vehicles for the front line
- Monitor vendor performance and manage relationships with third-party service providers
- Ensure reconditioning processes comply with company policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards
- Track and report on reconditioning timelines, costs, and productivity
- Train, lead, and develop reconditioning staff to maintain a high-performance team
- Manage inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment needed for reconditioning operations
- Previous management experience in automotive reconditioning, service, or fixed operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of automotive mechanical, detailing, and cosmetic repair processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in inventory and workflow management systems (preferred)
