Public Relations & Social Media Intern - IMMEDIATE START

Groot PR is Hiring: Public Relations & Social Media Intern (Immediate Start)

Groot PR, a female-owned boutique PR agency based in West Palm Beach, is seeking a Public Relations & Social Media Intern to join our team immediately.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to gain hands on experience inside a fast paced, growing agency.

You'll get exposure to both sides of the business. Traditional PR and media relations, plus social media content creation across our roster of four clients, each in a completely different space.

The ideal candidate is self sufficient, capable of adhering to a structured schedule, and committed to executing tasks with precision and professionalism, and just as importantly, has a genuine creative eye.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

PR & media relations

• Assisting with event execution and on-site support
• Creating and organizing client lists in Excel / Google Sheets
• Building, researching, and refining targeted media lists
• Conducting media research across digital, print, podcast, and broadcast outlets
• Assisting with cold outreach to journalists and media contacts
• Supporting press outreach strategy and follow-ups
• Drafting and formatting press materials
• Tracking placements and updating internal reporting documents

Social media & content

• Creating and editing content in Canva and CapCut
• Producing reels, static posts, and stories for multiple clients
• Helping develop creative concepts and maintaining each client's distinct visual style
• Supporting ongoing client PR and social campaigns and special projects

This is a hands-on opportunity to learn real world public relations strategy, media relations, social media content creation, and event execution within the luxury lifestyle, entertainment, and entrepreneurial space, across four different clients, so no two days look the same.

Requirements:

• Strong writing and communication skills
• A strong creative eye and an interest in content and design
• Proficiency in Canva and CapCut (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Comfortable creating reels, static posts, and stories
• Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable with research and database management
• Professional, outgoing, and confident demeanor
• Must be local to West Palm Beach & able to come in office 3 days a week & join on content shoots

• Must be available to work from home as well when owner away for travel

• Interest in media, events, branding, and communications

This internship is 3 days per week, 6 hours per day. Immediate start.

This is an unpaid internship and must be eligible for college credit.
