Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their food orders in a lively, friendly manner
- Prepare and serve food items efficiently, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and quickly
- Handle cash transactions, including cash handling, making change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, including bussing tables and cleaning food prep surfaces
- Manage food handling responsibilities with attention to proper storage, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring satisfaction
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Culinary experience or background in the food industry is a plus
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order calculations
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in a café or retail setting involving serving customers and managing transactions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
