What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Manager position at Groomer's Choice Pet Products?
The Information Technology Manager performs overall information systems planning, implementation and administrative procedures in a variety of IT functional areas. Provides operational infrastructure support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Principal dutes to include but not inclusive of the following:
- Responsible for evaluating, developing strategies, and solutions for the company by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Oversee external IT vendors and contractors to ensure cost effectiveness, high service standards, cybersecurity, and completion of work.
- Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute on projects such as, but not limited to software or hardware upgrades or implementations.
- Work with team members to analyze, recommend, and implement technical solutions to business requirements.
- Develop and monitor departmental budget to ensure IT department provides cost-effective, quality, and stable services to internal and external customers.
- Manage IT inventory, ordering, and distribution.
- Maintain ERP Software to include updates, break-fixes, administration/configuration and keeping up to date with latest improvements.
- Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
- Install and configure software and hardware components.
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
- Maximizes computer system capabilities by studying technical applications and making recommendations.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and can instruct and support end-users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Keeping up to date with new technologies and software documentation.
Required knowledge and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or similar field.
- Five or more years of IT work experience.
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems.
- Proficient with Office 365 and full Microsoft Office Suite.
- General working knowledge of routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory and security groups.
- Proficient with SQL Server concepts, configuration, and best practices.
- Experience with EDI.
- Ability to manage 3rd party vendors.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate technical ideas to non-technical team members.
- Team player who is self-motivated and can work independently.
- Problem solver and critical thinker.
- Analytical and research orientation.
- Project, time management and task prioritization skills.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Basic SQL knowledge, HTML Coding, Scripting, API deployments, SAP Crystal Reports 2013 would be a plus.
