Pet Groomer

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring that pets look their best while also maintaining their health and well-being. This role requires both technical grooming skills and the ability to create a positive experience for pets and their owners.

Cat groomers and dog groomers both are encouraged to apply! Formerly Groomer Has it Pet Spa which was open for 6 years before finding new ownership. We are currently booked out about a month on average

Duties

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling of various breeds of dogs and/or cats.
• Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues or concerns that may require veterinary attention.
• Use appropriate grooming tools and techniques to ensure the safety and comfort of pets during the grooming process.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, including sanitizing equipment.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any observations made during the grooming process.
• Provide add on pet care services as needed, such as nail clipping, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing.
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure both pet safety and groomer safety.

Qualifications

• 2 years previous experience in dog grooming, cat grooming or certified through a credible school.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.
• Familiarity with various dog breeds, coat types, and appropriate grooming techniques is essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.
• Experience in related areas such as kennel work, dog training, pet sitting, or general pet care is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their pets while providing exceptional customer service.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
