Responsibilities:
Pet Grooming: Perform professional grooming services on various breeds of dogs and, optionally, other pets such as cats. Services may include bathing, drying, brushing, trimming, and styling according to the client's specifications and breed standards.
Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process. Properly handle, restrain, and interact with pets in a compassionate and caring manner. Pay attention to any health concerns or issues and communicate with pet owners and the management team when necessary.
Client Communication: Consult with clients to understand their grooming requirements and provide recommendations based on the pet's needs and breed characteristics. Maintain clear and professional communication with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the grooming services.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain grooming tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the management promptly.
Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of grooming sessions, pet details, and any special requests or medical issues. Utilize the company's software or systems for scheduling appointments and maintaining client information.
Sanitation and Cleanliness: Adhere to strict cleanliness standards in the grooming area and ensure a safe and hygienic environment for pets and team members.
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience as a pet groomer is required.
Knowledge: Familiarity with various dog breeds, their grooming requirements, and breed-specific cuts. Understanding of basic pet behavior and body language.
Patience and Compassion: Ability to work with pets of all temperaments and handle them with patience, kindness, and empathy.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
Physical Stamina: Grooming can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and handle pets of different sizes and stand for extended periods.
