Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
System Administrator Job Description:
Provides technical and operational support for the operation and administration of the site and lab computing infrastructure including switches, routers, databases, thin-clients, and domain servers. Background working in a Linux and Microsoft Windows environment. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
System Administrator Required Skills:
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Respond to requests and tickets to the helpdesk.
- Install and configure servers and workstations.
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting computer and network equipment.
- Setting up administrator and service accounts.
- Interacts with system users.
- Coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Able to support and maintain a lab environment including maintenance and upkeep of hardware and the installation and/or upgrading of system software.
- Able to work under general supervision and communicate clearly with both peers and superiors.
- Able to plan and follow schedules with little oversight or direction.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in written form, possess excellent organizational and reporting abilities.
- Be team oriented, energetic, and possess a friendly personality.
System Administrator Desired Skills:
- Experience troubleshooting and/or configuring Linux servers to include scripting.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Familiarity with configuring VMs (Virtualization).
System Administrator Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and 1 – 3 years of experience.
- Willingness to work overtime and off shift when dictated to support business needs
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship and able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret level security clearance
