Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple design teams executing a variety of projects and programs for multiple clients.
- Recruit, train, coach, and mentor engineering staff to develop and retain top engineering talent.
- Supervise staff activities, including timesheet approvals and annual performance reviews.
- Actively participate as a member of the Transmission Line Section leadership team.
- Prepare responses to client RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, including proposal development and scope definition.
- Foster a growth mindset and encourage innovative, creative problem-solving for complex client challenges.
- Promote continuous improvement by developing streamlined processes, tools, and technical resources through innovation and automation.
- Delegate work effectively, forecast and plan team workload, and support recruiting efforts to meet growth objectives.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure the highest standard of deliverables.
- Serve as a primary client liaison to strengthen relationships, support business development, and promote long-term partnerships.
- Manage overall portfolio health by collaborating with Project Managers to monitor scope, schedule, and budget.
- Support schedule compliance through coordination with Lead Engineers and execution teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of eight (8 ) years of experience in high-voltage electric utility transmission system design.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills with experience serving as a primary point of contact for current and prospective clients.
- Demonstrated business acumen with a track record of meeting project performance metrics.
- Willingness to work onsite or in client offices as needed; periodic travel may be required.
- Strong interest and capability in mentoring and developing engineering staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2 ) years of experience supervising or managing staff.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience using TOWER software.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months.
- Experience with LPILE or FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
