Grocery Stock Clerk/Grocery Associate

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Grocery Stock Clerk to join our team. This position is responsible for stocking shelves, maintaining product displays, rotating merchandise, and ensuring the grocery department is clean, organized, and fully stocked. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Duties

• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise.
• Rotate products using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method to ensure freshness.
• Remove expired, damaged, or recalled products from shelves.
• Keep shelves organized, clean, and properly faced.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
• Unload deliveries and organize products in the stockroom.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including aisles and storage areas.
• Assist customers by answering questions and helping them locate products.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with team members and management to ensure the department is fully stocked and ready for customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in grocery stores or warehouse operations is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Familiarity with inventory control systems, pallet jacks, forklifts, and warehouse equipment is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices.
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations related to pricing, stock counts, and inventory management.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence with positive attitude and teamwork spirit.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
