Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, proactive, detail oriented and experienced Front End Lead to oversee the cashier team at our grocery store. In this role, you will manage daily front-end operations, ensure excellent customer service, and lead a team of cashiers to create a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your leadership will help maintain efficient checkout processes and a welcoming environment for all shoppers.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support cashier staff, ensuring smooth and efficient checkout operations.
- Create shift schedules for cashiers, assign daily tasks, and coordinate timely floor breaks.
- Set up, balance, and distribute daily cash tills to include monitor cash levels throughout the shift, adjusting tills when they reach maximum capacity, and accurately count and balance the store safe.
- Train new cashiers and provide ongoing coaching to maintain high standards of customer service.
- Monitor cashier performance, address issues, and promote teamwork and professionalism.
- Ensure accurate handling of transactions, cash management, and adherence to store policies.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, actively handling incoming phone calls and resolving service issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with store management to improve front-end processes and customer flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Support store promotions and pricing adjustments at the front end.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail, preferably in grocery or customer service environments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure.
