Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Deli Lead to oversee our deli department. In this role, you will manage daily operations, ensure the freshness and proper dating of all deli items, handle inventory control, and lead a team to deliver excellent customer service. Your organizational skills and leadership will help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient deli area that keeps our customers satisfied.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the deli team to provide friendly and efficient service.
- Oversee daily deli operations, including checking product dates, receiving shipments, and ensuring proper storage of deli items.
- Manage inventory levels, place deli orders, and control waste to optimize sales and minimize shortages.
- Ensure all deli items are properly labeled, dated, and stored according to safety standards.
- Use scanners for pricing accuracy and inventory tracking.
- Train staff on safety procedures, proper handling, and customer service expectations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail, grocery, or inventory management, preferably in a deli or food section.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of inventory control, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in grocery or retail stores is preferred.
