Job Summary:
The Dyer Operator/Shift Supervisor needs to be highly organized, detail-oriented, experienced with Microsoft office with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position will report directly to the Wet-Blend Production Manager. The employee will adhere to all Grober Nutrition/Denkavit SOPs and policies to ensure that they are performing their job safely and that the feed is handled with animal safety and quality in mind.
Responsibilities:
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Training new hires to make sure they understand their roles
- Implement and enforce systems, policies and procedures
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Follow the company’s safety and quality guidelines
- May also perform some of the essential duties and responsibilities of the team members within the department
- Unloading liquid raw materials
- Record Lot numbers and Batch data
- Load drive-in racking
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Record data using Microsoft Excel
- Ensure higher level of quality in our product through various product testing
Requirements:
- 3-5 years in a supervisory role.(Preferred)
- High energy and the ability to multi-task.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft office, Excel, Word).
- Willingness to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing and extending arms
- Stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
- Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly for up to a 12-hour shift
- Work with a knife (if necessary)
- Operate heavy equipment like forklift and scissor lifts
- Work while wearing hearing/eye protection and steel-toed safety shoes
- Work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
- Climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
- Troubleshoot basic problems with equipment
- Report all injuries and near misses to the Plant Manager at the time of injury
