Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Waddler Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive learning environment for students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities and autism. This position involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, utilizing learning technology, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each student's educational journey.
Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
- Develop curriculum that aligns with educational standards and incorporates best practices in teaching.
- Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Collaborate with special education staff to create and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
- Provide early intervention strategies for students requiring additional support.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, understanding, and acceptance among all students.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends and methodologies related to deaf education, behavioral health, and working with individuals with disabilities.
Experience
- A degree in Education or a related field is required; advanced degrees or certifications in special education are preferred.
- Proven experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and working with diverse populations, particularly those with autism or other disabilities.
- Familiarity with early intervention techniques and behavioral health strategies is highly desirable.
- Experience in deaf education is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports the growth of all students.
