What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fireplace Installation & Service Technician position at Grizzly Fireplace?
Grizzly Fireplace is a locally-owned fireplace & hearth business, specializing in all aspects of fireplace installation. From start to finish, we work with our customers to ensure every step of the process is smooth and successful. We are an entirely in-house operation, handling framing, masonry work, fuel line & electrical connection, and custom mantel creation. In addition, we provide cleaning and service for customers with fireplaces and stoves already installed in their homes.
General Requirements:
1. This is a physically involved position. The ideal applicant must be able to stand, kneel, operate hand tools in close spaces, be comfortable with heights for roof-top installation, and be able to lift items up to 50lbs.
2. Comfort with technical manuals, tools, and machinery are desired. Relevant training will be provided, and having a background in the trades will be beneficial to success in this role.
3. The ideal applicant will be trained and supervised for a training period at the beginning of employment. After this training period has ended, the applicant will be expected to work independently on-site, with access to remote technical support. Problem solving and creativity are key skills. Carpentry experience (framing/finish) is Preferred.
4. Our ‘job site’ is in the homes of our customers. The applicant must be willing and able to have conversations with our customers, and be able to explain to them what work is being done, and do their best to answer any questions the customer asks. This is not a customer service position; the ability to be kind and clear with strangers is all we’re looking for in an applicant.
5. As an employee of a small business, the applicant will be working closely with a core team of people. The success of Grizzly Fireplace is dependent upon our employees working well together on projects and respecting each other. Clear communication is a must.
We are looking to hire a full-time employee. There is the possibility of part-time work for the right applicant. Compensation is dependent upon experience.
