Griz Haul, Inc. is hiring experienced Class A CDL Drivers for a unique full-time opportunity supporting a major truck manufacturer’s research and development program in Salt Lake City, UT. Enjoy steady, full-time work and be home every day!
This is not a traditional freight-hauling position. Drivers will operate and evaluate Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF Class 8 trucks as part of commercial vehicle testing and development. Freight is no-touch, and there is no loading or unloading required. Drivers start and end each shift at the same location and focus on safely operating vehicles, collecting performance data, and providing feedback to engineering teams.

Position:
Class A CDL Test Driver – On-Road Rapid Mileage Accumulation
Pay Rate: $30.91 – $31.90/hour
Schedule: Monday–Saturday | 40 - 60 hours per week
Available Shifts:
- Swing Shift: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Swing Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
- Graveyard Shift: 9:30 PM – 8:00 AM
- Graveyard Shift: 2:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:
- Operate Class A trucks and tractor-trailer combinations on assigned test routes.
- Test vehicles in a variety of configurations, including alternative fuel vehicles.
- Evaluate truck performance, including steering, braking, handling, transmissions, and overall operation.
- Identify and report vehicle concerns, defects, and required repairs.
- Document test results and provide accurate feedback to supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
- Follow prescribed routes and testing procedures without deviation.
- Safely operate vehicles under a variety of road and weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a DOT medical physical and meet all physical requirements necessary to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of OTR Class A driving experience.
- Current and valid Class A CDL.
- Current DOT Medical Certificate.
- Ability to operate automatic, automated manual, and manual transmissions.
- Clean driving record; 3-year driving abstract required.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Driver's will work an assigned shift.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
Additional Benefits:
- Downtime pay: Up to 40 hours per week for up to 2 weeks per qualifying occurrence due to breakdowns outside the driver’s control.
- PTO/Paid Vacation accrual at 2% of gross pay (based on straight time and overtime weekly).
