POSTED ON 7/31/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/26/2027
Gritter Francona is looking for a Senior Production/Operations Specialist to provide senior-level operational leadership and execution support for healthcare information technology initiatives that directly support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) mission to deliver timely, accessible, and high-quality healthcare to Veterans. This position ensures the reliable operation, coordination, and continuous improvement of production environments, training operations, and value stream activities that support the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and associated clinical information systems.

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operational execution rather than serving solely in an advisory capacity. The Senior Production/Operations Specialist provides the operational leadership necessary to coordinate cross-functional teams, optimize workflows, monitor production performance, and ensure healthcare technology services are delivered efficiently, reliably, and in alignment with organizational priorities.

By supporting informatics surge operations and production management activities, this position helps prevent disruptions in medication ordering, clinical documentation, diagnostic results reporting, and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) performance. These efforts directly contribute to patient safety, continuity of care, quality improvement, and timely clinical operations across the VHA enterprise.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day production and operational activities supporting enterprise healthcare information technology services
  • Oversee execution of training operations, production support activities, and value stream initiatives to ensure timely and effective service delivery
  • Coordinate activities across multiple functional organizations to support operational objectives, system performance, and customer requirements
  • Monitor operational performance and implement continuous process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery
  • Develop operational plans, schedules, and resource strategies to support production objectives and organizational priorities
  • Forecast customer demand, workload requirements, and resource utilization to ensure operational readiness and effective service delivery
  • Collaborate with program leadership, clinical stakeholders, technical teams, and business managers to coordinate operational activities and resolve issues affecting production performance
  • Analyze operational metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization
  • Lead operational response activities during surge support, production issues, system releases, and implementation events
  • Ensure production activities align with organizational policies, quality standards, service level agreements, and federal healthcare requirements
  • Coordinate operational improvements that enhance workflow efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall organizational performance
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to clinical and business operations
  • Prepare operational reports, status updates, performance analyses, and recommendations for program leadership
  • Support governance activities by developing and maintaining operational procedures, documentation, and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Operations Management, Public Health, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in production operations, operations management, healthcare administration, healthcare information technology, or related operational environments
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional operational activities within complex organizations
  • Experience managing production operations, operational planning, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, customer service delivery, performance management, and operational governance
  • Experience forecasting workload, coordinating resources, and supporting operational readiness
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, program managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders
