This is a Full Time Role: Monday-Friday 6AM-2PM

Physical & Environmental Demands
Good visual acuity, accurate color vision. Ability to lift/transfer patients more than 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling, and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to correlate clinical data with patient's care under the direction of the clinical leader/registered nurse.
- Ability to set priorities.
- Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.
- Ability to communicate well with patients, families, Teammates, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc.
- Checks updated schedule every morning and assists with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Clean instruments and equipment after use and return to proper area for storage or processing.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and use sterilizers, high level disinfectors, instrument washers, and other designated processors.
- Differentiate sterilization methods required for specific instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and monitor high level disinfectant solutions.
- Collect data and maintain sterilization logs.
- Participates in the orientation of new OR staff.
- Demonstrates understanding of operating room equipment according to manufacturers’ guidelines, policy and procedures.
- Promotes physical comfort and provides emotional support and safety for patients. Respect patient’s right to privacy, dignitary, and confidentiality.
- Assembles cases according to schedule and preference cards.
- Practice and monitor aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Handle specimens in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks.
- Participate in the surgical time-out process per facility policy.
- Assist with positioning patient relevant to procedure with awareness of body alignment, circulation, and pressure points.
- Be accountable for accuracy of sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the registered nurse.
- Maintains adequate room supplies, assists in stocking and replenishing, outdating and preparation of supplies. Notifies appropriate staff member to order supplies as needed.
- Reviews and updates physician preference cards as needed.
- Assists physician and anesthesia personnel as needed.
- Cleans equipment and operating room according to procedure.
- Maintains a neat and organized environment that promotes safety.
- Maintains attendance according to guidelines and policy established by facility.
- Provides notification for unscheduled absences or tardiness in accordance with established departmental procedures as noted by supervisor and requests scheduled time off according to procedure as noted by supervisor.
- Completes all employee/patient event and variance documentation in a thorough and timely manner, as required by policy.
- Attends unit-based staff meetings and demonstrates review of minutes for any meetings missed.
- Strives to be professional, courteous, helpful, and cooperative. Interacts with all patients/ families, visitors, and employees in a mature, positive manner.
- Complies with the OSHA and AAAHC standards, HIPAA regulations, and all facility policies and procedures.
