Current Pharmacy Technician in the State of Idaho
Minimum Work Experience
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
Required Skills
Computer skills and adequate typing speed preferred.
Essential Functions
Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements.
Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security.
Helps maintain orderly, clean environment, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies
Helps prepare stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal.
Performs general clerical duties for the department.

Neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Physical Demands
Lifting: Occasional lift to a maximum of 25 lbs. from floor to waist height from floor to waist and 12 lbs. to overhead height (2 x hr. up to 8 x day). No frequent lifts. Items lifted-IV bags and boxes.
Push/Pull: Minimal force required to push carts 100-200 feet.
Carry: Maximum of 25 lb. box for 20 feet
Fine Motor: High degree of fine motor skill to mix medications, manipulate syringes, etc…
Standing: Up to 60 minutes at one time, up to 8 hours per day
Sitting: Up to 60 minutes at one time, up to 8 hours per day
Kneeling: Up to 5 minutes at one time, up to 5 minutes per day
Stooping: Up to 5 minutes at one time up to 5 minutes per day
Climbing: UP to 2 minutes at one time up to 20 minutes per day
Other: Occasional reaching/handing for preparing medications for distribution. Frequent fingering to type, write, and use the phone and computer. Constant talking, hearing, and seeing to interact with patient and other healthcare providers with frequent visual acuity sufficient to count and dispense medication
Environmental Conditions
Location: Inside. Occasional exposure to wet and humidity through water and hand washing. Occasional exposure to noise caused by intermittent distractions from computer printer and telephones. Occasional exposure to toxic and caustic chemical with chemotherapeutic medications. Minimal exposure to biohazardous blood and body fluids.
