Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Field Service Technician to join our team. This role primarily focuses on the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and other security equipment. The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience as a data cabling lead technician, be comfortable working at heights on a boom truck, and handle extensive travel. Additionally, this position involves supporting Point of Sale (POS) systems, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, and performing essential services on EV charging stations. Training will be provided for EV responsibilities, but a valid CCTV license or certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Tests and troubleshoots problems with camera systems, ensuring optimal functionality and issue resolution.
- Act as a lead technician for data cabling and security equipment projects, working within constraints of time and materials to perform related duties as required.
- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage and structured cabling (Cat5/6, fiber optic) for network and security systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Point of Sale (POS) systems and pin pads, ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
- Implement and maintain IoT solutions, including connecting and configuring IoT devices to enhance operational efficiency and data tracking.
- Operate a boom truck safely and work at heights to complete installations and repairs.
- Travel up to 50%-75% with Metro Atlanta, with additional outlining areas within the state.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the assigned company vehicle, performing routine inspections and maintenance.
- Maintains accurate records of time and material used on each job.
- Prepares and submits reports related to job duties, documentation, and findings.
- Perform unit head swap-outs and firmware upgrades on charging stations, strictly following safety procedures and step-by-step guides.
- Maintain detailed documentation before, during, and after each job.
- Coordinate with site contacts to locate necessary equipment and perform power cycles as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the team to address challenges during tasks.
- Adhere strictly to Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Three (3) years of experience in data and security equipment installation.
- Proven experience as a Data Cabling Technician, with the ability to manage and execute projects.
- Experience working on a boom truck and comfortable working at heights.
- Valid CCTV License or Certification (Required).
- Technical background and previous experience in software upgrades or a related technical field are preferred.
- Proficient in following step-by-step guides and detailed instructions, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with team members and site contacts.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
