Are you interested in getting in on the ground floor…and having a key role in a company that has a goal of opening 10 locations in the next few years?
Hey!
My name is Mike Ercolano and I own Grit Athlete Performance (a Next Generation Training Center company) in Randolph, NJ. We help kids ages 6-18 get strong, fast and confident, and we’re looking for a head coach to help us train 100 athletes.
Company Overview
Grit is an athlete performance company that helps kids become the best version of themselves, and we do this through teaching them how to become better athletes. While athlete performance is what we do, transforming the lives of the kids in our community is the real goal.
We look at GRIT as a personal development program for kids that uses athlete performance training as the tool. Our Randolph Location works with 100 athletes/year and due to the success of the program we are expanding to multiple locations in the very near future.
Job Description
The head coach position will be responsible for managing the day to day of the Randolph location. You'll need to be ultra passionate about training athletes ages 6-18 to help them excel in both sports and in life.
Here’s what you’ll be doing all day:
- Training athletes: We don’t need to go deep here as it’s likely you’re doing this already. You’ll need to run 3-5 group/private athlete training sessions per day like a pro. We’ll expect our athletes to leave the gym…get into their parents' car and tell them they had a blast working with you, felt challenged by you and have more belief and confidence in themselves because of the awesome workout they just had. The right coach will do this each day of the week.
- Talking with Parents: You’ll need phone skills and be able to speak to parents about their kids. Whether that’s helping them enroll into the program or just a check up call, we’ll train you to ask the right questions and develop strong relationships with parents.
- Getting out in the community: Since this is a very local business, you must have the interpersonal skills to build relationships with coaches and other local programs to help bring new athletes in the door. While we will handle all the social media and digital marketing you will be responsible for Grits presence in the community and help to build and strengthen our reputation
- Program Design: You’ll need to know your stuff and be able to create training programs that help our athletes get stronger and faster but keep them safe at the same time.
- Teaching and Coaching other coaches: This will be super exciting for you and is a very rare opportunity. It's one thing to be a leader in your local market, it’s another to have an impact with thousands of people all over the country. Since our goal is to have 10 Locations in the next 5 years the opportunities of this role will also continue to grow. You’ll help other coaches get better at training and coaching, help them implement our systems and be on the cutting edge of trying new ideas to implement with gyms all across the country.
What You Need To Apply
- Dependability: we need to be able to count on you to show up day in and day out and work hard to exceed our expectations of you.
- Passion and experience with training athletes ages 6-18, they need to love working with you and go home to their parents thinking you’re the best coach they’ve ever worked with.
- Learner: A desire to grow both personally and professionally, if you don’t love learning and making yourself better, this is definitely not the role for you.
- Strong work ethic: You gotta be a hard worker to work at GRIT.
- Relationships: You’ll need the ability to create strong relationships with kids, parents, people in the community and with our other coaches.
- An Open mind: Since you’ll be on the ground floor of a company that’s about to explode, your ability to learn new things and adapt to change will be crucial to success.
So, are you excited?
Did this opportunity blow the other sports performance jobs you’ve seen out of the water?
If yes, let's chat.
We’ve only got one spot for this role and we’re just giving you a heads up now, the interview process won’t be a walk in the park…but if you end up getting the job, it could change your life forever.
