Job Description- Role: Caregiver Office Assistant
Location: Hybrid
Relationship: This position reports to the director
Part-time Non-Exempt Position 

 

Our Caregiver Office Assistant helps our community “live assured” by serving as a key support position to the office staff by helping with routine tasks while continuing to work as a Caregiver when needed. The Caregiver Office Assistant acts as a mentor to our caregivers and will gain the experience and knowledge needed for a future Coordinator position.

· Facilitates and attends meet and greets between clients and caregivers
· Assists with scheduling of caregivers or finding replacement caregivers to cover call outs.

 

Care is Personal: Our work is about people, and we support their unique needs with respect, empathy and dedicated attention.
· Greets visitors in a professional manner
· Answers incoming phone calls and general questions promptly, routing to appropriate personnel when necessary
· Assists clients with care as needed during normal business hours when the regularly scheduled caregiver calls out for their shift and a replacement caregiver has not been identified.
· Participates in on-call duties on a rotating basis and as needed by the office.
· Contributes to and/or participates in Company sponsored events as able

· Acts as a mentor to caregivers by demonstrating essential skills
· Assists Caregiver Coordinator at recruitment events, scheduling interviews, on-boarding caregivers and with file maintenance as needed.
· Understands and acts in accordance with the applicable Federal and State laws governing Home Care Agencies and the interviewing and on-boarding of employees
· Utilizes Outlook, WellSky and any other necessary systems for complete and accurate caregiver records including notes and follow-up.

 

Our Caregiver Office Assistants all have the below skills or qualities, ensuring success at Griswold
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), associate degree preferred
• Caregiver certification as required by state regulations
• Human Services background is a preference
• Strong desire to help others is a must
• Must be able to operate standard business equipment including a laptop computer and a mobile phone as well as all the associated apps and software.
• Must be able to see and interpret information within our systems (like WellSky, FranConnect or Email) and be able to exchange information accurately and quickly with others, as well as record information in these same systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, positive driving record, reliable transportation, and be able to drive to and from client sites, and other Company offices when necessary
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and alternate from stationary to traverse positions often and for extended periods of time
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of emotional intelligence and empathy, as well as, dedication to our core pillars
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Flexible and able to multi-task
• Effective time management skills
• Proactive with strong initiative and follow through
• Capable of working independently when needed
• Weekend and/or evening hours may be required
