Position Summary
Griot’s Motors is building a team of elite craftsmen dedicated to restoration work of the highest caliber. We are seeking an experienced Restoration Fabricator to support complex restoration and custom fabrication projects. This role involves panel replacement, rust repair, precision panel fabrication, custom engine and component fabrication, and creative problem-solving across a wide range of materials and applications.
Core Responsibilities
- Cut, bend, shape, and fit steel and aluminum panels using standard fabrication equipment
- Perform rust repair and structural panel replacement to restoration-level standards
- Fabricate custom components for engine and vehicle applications
- Hand-finish body panels to correct irregularities prior to refinishing
- TIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with a focus on both structural integrity and aesthetics
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional workspace
- Work independently, including researching and developing solutions when required
- Support team goals by meeting deadlines, including overtime when necessary
Technical Qualifications
- Advanced metal fabrication skills (steel & aluminum)
- Proficient TIG welding (steel, stainless, aluminum)
- Strong hand-tool and panel-finishing skills
- Basic understanding of woodworking tools
- Experience with CAD software, 3D printing, and laser/waterjet processes is a plus
Experience Requirements
- Minimum three years experience in fabrication environment
- Prior experience with classic, collectible, or high-end automobiles strongly preferred
