Griot Cafe is seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier to support daily café service and customer-facing operations. This role is responsible for taking orders, processing payments, assisting customers with basic questions, and maintaining an organized front-counter area. The ideal candidate is attentive, courteous, and able to provide efficient service in a busy café setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Take customer orders accurately and confirm order details
- Process cash, card, and other approved payment methods
- Operate the POS system and complete transactions accurately
- Answer basic questions about menu items and café offerings
- Provide receipts and assist with routine customer requests
- Communicate order details and special requests with café staff
- Keep the register and front-counter area clean and organized
- Restock bags, cups, napkins, utensils, and other service supplies
- Help organize dine-in, pickup, and takeout orders
- Assist coworkers with daily café tasks when needed
- Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, café, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
