What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Food Runner/Busser position at Grind Burger Kitchen?
Grind Burger Kitchen is looking for a Service Assistant to join our amazing team and be the first point of contact for our guests! This is the perfect position for a college student or anyone looking for 15-20 hours a week. Pay is $12 per hour, but this position is tipped out by other staff!
Responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, escorting customers to the dining and bar areas, running food, clearing tables and assisting with to-go orders. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience to our guests.
While open availability is great, a set availability will also work!
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
- Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name
- Thank customers upon their departure
- Maintain a clean reception area
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
- Address customers’ queries
- Assist wait staff as needed and run food from kitchen to tables
Requirements
- Previous work experience as a Host a plus
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette a plus
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Demonstrable customer-service skills
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand during an entire shift
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Must be able to move quickly on foot
- Repetitious bending and squatting
- Must be able to use a step ladder
