What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operator position at Grimsley Family Farms?
We operate a diversified crop farming operation where we grow 2000 acres of cotton, 1000 acres of corn and 800 acres of peanuts. 80% of our fields are irrigated with center pivots. We use John Deere tractors with green star guidance systems. Employees will be required to operate tractors with green star guidance systems while plowing and picking peanuts, employees will also be operating dump carts, a grain combine, light and heavy tillage equipment. Late model John Deere model equipment will be used. Experience with Greenstar GPS is beneficial. Previous experience operating a bulldozer and excavator will also be beneficial. Employees will complete routine repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment. They will be required to organize and clean the workshop and workshop yard. Welding and mechanical experience is beneficial. Employees will need to install and complete maintenance on irrigation pipes. Employees will assist with growing turf grass. job duties will include mowing, spraying, and stacking grass on pallets riding a sod cutter. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
