Role Description
The Audit and Assurance SeniorAccountant/Manager position is a full-time, on-site role based in Modesto, CA. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and reviewing audit and assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing internal controls, performing substantive testing, analyzing financial statements, and preparing clear, well-supported workpapers and reports. The Senior/Manager will supervise and mentor team members, coordinate engagement timelines and budgets, and communicate proactively with clients to address issues, present findings, and provide value-added recommendations. The role also involves participating in business development activities, contributing to process improvements, and staying current on accounting and auditing standards relevant to the firm’s industries.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of audit and assurance standards, GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements, with experience leading engagements from planning through completion.
- Advanced financial analysis and accounting skills, including interpreting financial statements, evaluating internal controls, and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Effective client service and communication abilities, including presenting findings, building relationships, and collaborating with owners, bankers, and investors.
- Leadership and team management skills, such as supervising staff, reviewing work, providing feedback, and supporting professional development.
- Proficiency with audit and accounting software and common office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, data analysis tools); experience with cloud-based accounting platforms is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field; CPA license (or CPA eligibility and progress toward licensure) strongly preferred.
- Prior public accounting experience in audit and assurance; experience with agribusiness, real estate, construction, or closely held businesses is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Modesto, CA, manage multiple engagements and deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and uphold high ethical and professional standards.
Salary Range: $72,000-$145,000
