As we continue to grow, we are seeking a thoughtful and detail-oriented individual to join our team as someone who can both budget and estimate.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Director of Estimating Purchasing (“DE P”) in preparing budgets off conceptual plans, thinking creatively to anticipate additional costs not illustrated on the conceptual plans, i.e. filling in the blanks.
- Assist DE P in preparing accurate and timely cost budgets and estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work and identify project requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and other project documents.
- Research and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to organize and maintain estimating data and documentation.
- Support the procurement team in negotiating prices with vendors and subcontractors.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction materials, and labor costs to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years work experience in construction estimating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, especially Excel, and experience with construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, etc).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
