TITLE: Environmental Management System (EMS) Engineer

LOCATION: Onsite in Alsip, IL

SHIFT & HOURS: First Shift

COMP RANGE: $75,000 - $80,000

Griffith Foods is hiring an Environmental Management System (EMS) Engineer responsible for implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS) under the ISO14001 standard in both Alsip and Lithonia manufacturing sites.

As An EMS Engineer, Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Supporting environmental management in ensuring compliance with local regulations, the site’s environmental policy, and global requirements
• Coordinating the site's legal review to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and implementing the required Action Plan.
• Implements the site's ISO 14001 certification process.
• Consolidating, tracks, and reports on environmental metrics and incidents using the tools and platforms provided by the Global Team.
• Leading efforts to improve environmental metrics.
• Other duties as assigned.     
  
  

The EMS Engineer position may be right for you if you:

• Knowledge of the ISO 14001 Standard is a plus.
• Participation in environmental audits under ISO 14001 is a plus.
• Knowledge of local environmental regulations is desired.
  
  

Qualified Candidates Will Have

• A degree in Environmental Engineering is preferred, but chemical or industrial engineering is also applicable.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all departments and all levels of the organization required.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Experience working in the Food and Beverage industry.
• Prior EMS experience.
  
  

Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
