Position Summary
At Griffiss Institute we are on a mission to become a world class talent and technology accelerator. We’re searching for a focused and driven Education Specialist to join our Talent Development team. This position will report to the Air & Space STEM Outreach Program Lead. The work will be focused on augmenting the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), which provides K-12 STEM outreach efforts for the National Capital Region. The AFOSR K-12 STEM initiative provides opportunities to inspire the next generation of STEM talent. This role requires you to have K12 education experience & project management experience as well as strong technical, procedural and progress oversight skills. You are expected to supervise and manage various national STEM partners and provide oversight to various projects as required. You are also expected to prepare reports through narrative and presentations when applicable, to update appropriate management channels and contract oversight officials on a regular basis. This position does not include direct reports, but you will have oversight responsibilities for various project teams.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintains and monitors project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
- Coordinate partnerships and provide guidance and consultation.
- Coordinate mission-focused curriculum and STEM content development
- Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes or meeting notes to all project team members and stakeholders.
- Documents and follows up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Prepares necessary presentation materials and conduct briefings for AFOSR leadership.
- Ensures project deadlines are met.
- Recommend project changes for review by AFOSR
- Undertakes project tasks as required.
- Develops program strategies and optimization plans to improve program success.
- Ensures partnerships & projects adhere to DAF STEM strategy and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Identify project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable working with the project manager.
- Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
- Performs routine administrative functions including word processing correspondence, memos, and reports.
- Fosters a workplace environment consistent with the values and vision of the company.
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes company assignments, and maintains professional composure under pressure and dynamic conditions.
- Adjusts to new situations encountered daily and has the ability to learn new duties quickly.

Experience
- Experience building and maintaining STEM relationships across organizations highly desired
- Experience working in Air Force or another Department of Defense component highly desired
- Experience developing, coordinating, and leading informal K-12 STEM education programs highly desired
Education/Licensure/Certifications
- Master’s degree with a minimum of four years' experience
- -or-
- Doctorate in Education with a minimum of one year experience
- Project management experience and CAPM/PMP Certification highly desired
Schedule and Location
- This position will be on site at Arlington, VA. Hybrid work arrangements may be authorized at the discretion of the host site.
Security Clearance Eligibility
- Incumbents are expected to hold US Secret Clearance.
