Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage case files using document management systems such as MyCase and QuickBooks Online, ensuring all records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other resources to support case strategies across diverse practice areas including real estate, estate planning, family law, probate and civil litigation support.
- Coordinate client interviews and meetings; handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining professional communication standards.
- Assist attorneys with project management tasks related to litigation timelines, procedural law compliance, and case development.
- Proofread and transcribe legal documents; ensure all materials meet procedural requirements and are error-free.
- Support the firm’s administrative functions by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, answering phones with professional etiquette, and handling correspondence efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal support role with extensive knowledge of law office procedures.
- Strong familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw.
- Experience with document review and case management systems like iManage is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple practice areas of rural civil law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Word processing skills, and legal drafting techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle client interactions professionally.
- Experience supporting attorneys with legal research, document management systems usage, transcription services, proofreading accuracy, and legal writing.
- Knowledge of procedural law requirements; ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining strict privacy standards.
