Griffin Realty and Construction Enterprises
Asheville, NC Full Time
POSTED ON 8/28/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/23/2027

Griffin Construction | Asheville, NC

Griffin Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial/Multifamily Project Manager to lead Commercial/Multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

This position is responsible for the overall financial, schedule, contractual, and operational performance of assigned projects and serves as a primary point of contact for owners, architects, subcontractors, and the internal project team.

The ideal candidate is a proactive construction professional who understands that successful project management requires more than tracking tasks—it requires anticipating problems, protecting project margin, maintaining schedules, leading people, and delivering an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating, bid solicitation, bid leveling, scope development, and project
  • handoff activities.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, schedules,
  • and financial reporting.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout, subcontract scope, and
  • performance.
  • Identify, price, document, and manage owner and subcontractor change orders.
  • Develop and actively manage the master project schedule, critical path, long-lead
  • procurement, and recovery plans when required.
  • Coordinate closely with the Superintendent to maintain schedule, quality, safety,
  • and subcontractor performance.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, project documentation, and project controls
  • through Procore.
  • Facilitate owner/architect/contractor meetings and maintain proactive
  • communication with clients and design professionals.
  • Develop and enforce project-specific quality control expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety requirements and subcontractor safety
  • procedures.
  • Lead projects through punch list, closeout, warranty, and post-project review.
  • Mentor and support Superintendents, Project Facilitators, and junior project team
  • members while creating clear accountability throughout the project.

What Success Looks Like

Our Commercial/Multifamily Project Managers are expected to:

  • Protect estimated gross profit and proactively identify financial exposure.
  • Maintain accurate project forecasting and cost controls.
  • Keep projects aligned with contractual milestones and proactively manage
  • schedule risks.
  • Process change orders promptly and prevent unauthorized out-of-scope work.
  • Maintain accurate and current project information in Procore.
  • Resolve issues before they become major cost, schedule, or client problems.
  • Build strong working relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and
  • field teams.
  • Deliver projects with a high standard of quality, safety, documentation, and
  • professionalism.

Technology & Project Controls

Procore is Griffin Construction’s system of record for Commercial/Multifamily construction. The Commercial/Multifamily Project Manager is expected to be highly proficient in project budgeting, change management, schedules of values, subcontract and purchase-order management, RFIs, submittals, drawings, inspections, and project documentation.

Leadership Expectations

This is a leadership position, not simply an administrative project management role. The Commercial/Multifamily Project Manager is expected to remove roadblocks for the field team, communicate clearly, hold team members and subcontractors accountable, develop less-experienced staff, and influence outcomes through sound judgment, credibility, and strong relationships.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the project from preconstruction through final completion and approach every decision with a focus on protecting the client relationship, project schedule, construction quality, and Griffin Construction’s financial performance.
