Role Overview
Griffin & Howe is seeking a creative and highly motivated Marketing & Social Media Assistant to join our team, reporting to the Marketing Manager. This role is ideal for a content creator who can capture the daily life of our Shooting Academy, Gunroom, and Gunsmithing shop. You will be responsible for turning our world-class craftsmanship and events into engaging digital stories.
This is a high-visibility role that requires a mix of creative content production, community management, and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and capture photos and videos of interesting events, procedures, and products across all departments.
- Execute the daily posting schedule and manage our presence on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Create and edit high-quality short-form (Reels) and long-form (YouTube) video content.
- Manage Facebook events, share content to relevant groups, and build relationships with our retail brands for cross-promotion.
- Assist with website blog updates, e-commerce product listings, and the assembly of weekly newsletters.
- Track social media stats and provide regular reports on growth and engagement.
Requirements
- Prior experience managing social media accounts for a business. Please provide a portfolio or links to accounts you have managed.
- Strong ability to shoot and edit video (Reels, YouTube, etc.). You should be comfortable with mobile editing apps or desktop software.
- Photography skills
- Expert-level familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube (including community management and backend analytics).
- Independent initiative
- A familiarity with or a genuine interest in hunting and firearms is preferred. You must be comfortable working in a firearms-related environment.
