What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specimen Processor position at Griffin Health Brand?
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Receive and process samples by scanning them into Meditech individually.
- Register new employees using information they fill out & send on specimen collection forms.
- Site batch all received specimens so that they are ready to be sent to Griffin Health’s reference laboratory.
- Tracks and efficiently handles all unlabeled specimens or specimens with miscellaneous issues by adding them to the correct shared document.
- Confirms accuracy of client and specimen details.
- Examines specimens for adequacy, integrity, and appropriateness of specimen.
- Practices effective hand off with Specimen Collection Team Leads & Couriers.
- Performs quality checks on all specimen collection forms
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE: On-the-job training provided.
