About Griffin Care
Griffin Care is a family-owned manufacturer of absorbent hygiene products — incontinence underpads, repositioning dry pads, pet training pads, and protective masks — serving healthcare, retail, and e-commerce customers across North America. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Bridgeton, NJ, the company has been on a strong upward trajectory and operates with a lean, tight-knit team of roughly 50 people. The culture is hands-on, collaborative, and built around people who take ownership.
The Role
Griffin Care is looking for a sharp, grounded Quality Manager to own its QA program. This isn’t a compliance-from-the-corner-office role — you’ll be on the floor, in the data, and at the table with auditors, all in the same week. Reporting directly to the President, you’ll work closely with the plant manager and VP of sales and be the person the team looks to on anything quality-related.
The ideal candidate brings real audit experience, a practical mindset, and the kind of judgment that comes from working in a production environment where speed, quality, and cost all matter simultaneously. You know when to be rigorous and when to be resourceful — and you’re comfortable being both.
What You’ll Do
- Own daily quality: lead inspections and testing across incoming materials, in-process, and finished goods
- Prepare for and lead third-party audits: quality management system, forestry/sustainability certification, and SMETA four-pillar social compliance
- Write and implement SOPs; train plant employees on quality procedures
- Understand how product formulation impacts benchmark testing and apply that knowledge in real time
- Manage customer complaint response and corrective action processes
- Run regular quality updates with production, management, and relevant staff
- Be present on the floor: including at the start of second shift and on production Saturdays
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on quality experience in a manufacturing environment ~ you know what good looks like on the floor
- Working experience with QMS, SOP development, corrective action, and third-party audit management
- Familiarity with SMETA, forestry/sustainability certification (FSC or equivalent), and/or social compliance auditing is a strong plus
- Background in absorbent hygiene, nonwovens, converted paper, or consumer products manufacturing is genuinely valued
- Collaborative, low-ego style: someone who gets results through relationships, not authority
- Comfortable working within a lean team where everyone rolls up their sleeves
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary, with flexibility for the right candidate. Benefits include health care, IRA and two weeks PTO.
This is a fully on-site role at Griffin Care’s Bridgeton, NJ facility. Expected hours are approximately 8–5, Monday through Friday, with some overlap into second shift and occasional Saturday presence during production runs.
Why This Role
Griffin Care is a profitable, growing company where the Quality Manager has a real seat at the operating table — not a compliance checkbox. You’ll have direct access to the President, a collaborative relationship with operations and sales leadership, and genuine autonomy to improve how things are done. If you want to own something and be recognized for it, this is that kind of place.
