Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and patching to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primers, paints, stains, varnishes, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, airless spray equipment, or other hand tools
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles
- Perform specialized painting tasks including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, and restoration projects
- Use hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, caulking guns, and power tools like drills and sanders to complete detailed work
- Execute surface preparation tasks such as plastering, stucco application, masonry finishing, drywall repair, and trim carpentry
- Install fixtures or hardware as needed during renovation or remodeling projects while maintaining safety standards on construction sites
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting with a strong understanding of both residential and commercial environments
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes to assess project scope and material needs
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, welding techniques, and concrete finishing methods
- Skills in plastering, caulking, fixture installation, restoration work, framing carpentry, masonry, remodeling projects, and maintenance tasks
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations
- Prior work experience in construction site environments with exposure to renovation or industrial painting projects is highly desirable
