Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently set up, operate, and monitor slitter/rewinder equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance; conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse or manufacturing facility, utilizing forklift certification when necessary for materials handling or loading/unloading operations.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout production using visual inspection, measurement tools, and factory standards to guarantee product consistency.
- Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, machine settings, and quality checks; collaborate with team members on process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, or flexo presses within a factory setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with programming CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software; experience with Fanuc controls is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers for quality assurance purposes.
- Valid forklift certification preferred; experience with materials handling in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and production quantities.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles to ensure parts meet engineering specifications; experience with welding or fabrication is a bonus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly and efficiently.
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience required; familiarity with assembly line processes and tooling is beneficial.
