Responsibilities
- Perform accurate EBOS material takeoffs based on customer plan sets, specifications, and project requirements.
- Analyze layout drawings, single-line diagrams, electrical plans, and datasheets to calculate quantities and lengths for string conductors, harnesses, IPCs, trunk bus systems, combiner boxes, disconnects, and related components.
- Populate, maintain, and validate Excel-based takeoff templates and bills of material.
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or unclear information in plan sets and coordinate with internal teams to resolve questions.
- Recommend EBOS design or product changes that improve cost efficiency, constructability, or installation performance.
- Maintain organized records of project inputs, outputs, revisions, and assumptions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, templates, and design processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, Procurement, and Operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- 2 years of experience in solar design, estimating, takeoffs, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plan sets, electrical diagrams, and site layouts.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, structured templates, and BOM formatting.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or PDF markup tools such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
- Understanding of PV system architecture, including source circuits and EBOS components.
- High attention to detail with strong process consistency.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting utility-scale or large commercial solar PV projects.
- Working knowledge of NEC guidelines related to wire sizing, ampacity, and voltage drop.
- Exposure to kitting, packaging, or logistics solutions.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, or quoting tools is a plus.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a computer and printer.
