What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief of Staff position at GridCARE?
Fastminds is a recruiting partner of Gridcare.
We are helping Gridcare find a Chief of Staff to the CTO.
GridCARE is a venture-backed Stanford Doerr School spin-out solving the defining bottleneck of the AI era: immediate access to power. While others chase multi-decade energy projects, our physics-based generative AI platform unlocks gigawatts of hidden capacity in today's electric grid—enabling hyperscalers, data centers, and utilities to power AI infrastructure years ahead of schedule.
What You'll Do:
- Multiply CTO Leverage: This is NOT a scheduling job, It is a hands-on, building-focused, product-shaped role for someone who can run several workstreams in parallel, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and move fluidly between executive operations, strategic communications, and AI-powered knowledge systems)
- Own Meeting Intelligence: Drive end-to-end meeting prep, secure agendas, frame expected outcomes, turn rough pointers into polished memos, and relentlessly track follow-ups.
- Shape Strategic Narrative: Author high-stakes decks and canonical docs for investors, hyperscalers, and utilities, maintaining a precise, systems-oriented brand voice.
- Build AI Automations: Proactively turn recurring workflows into automated AI systems, setting the company baseline for productivity using advanced prompting and AI tools.
- Codify the CTO's "Digital Twin": Synthesize the CTO's unique operating style, technical talk tracks, and knowledge systems into reusable, durable organizational assets.
Requirements:
- AI-First Builder: An AI-native who builds custom prompts and automated workflows daily (not just consuming AI) to supercharge personal productivity.
- Executive Communicator: Able to distill complex technical/grid concepts into flawless prose and high-impact decks, earning instant credibility with engineers and executives.
- Startup Program Manager: Proven ability to run concurrent, ambiguous workstreams, write clear product briefs/PRDs, and operate with high autonomy.
- Technically Literate: Possess the analytical fluency to engage deeply with engineers and translate technical inputs into strategic and product artifacts.
- Background & Location: Experience in Product Management, Chief of Staff, or early startup ops. Hybrid (3 days/week in Redwood City, CA). Note: This is a strategic narrative/systems role, not a calendar-only admin job.
Example of the ideal profile: Product management and chief-of-staff background operating close to senior leadership, leading meeting intelligence and decision prep, with experience managing execs public profiles/presence and track record building automations.
