Systems Administrator Purpose
The Systems Administrator ensures Grid-Line’s company systems and software remain stable, secure, and efficient across all departments. This role provides direct support for day-to-day system issues, manages user permissions and access control, and implements solutions that improve how departments operate. The Systems Administrator contributes to system documentation in alignment with IT SOPs, tests and validates all changes before rollout, and drives efficiency by integrating systems through APIs and scripts. Beyond maintaining support and stability, this role actively advances innovation by optimizing both new and existing platforms to better serve the company’s operational needs.
Systems Administrator Core Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all major company systems—including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, the TMS, Samsara ELD, and other operational platforms—ensuring stability, security, and alignment with IT standards.
- Provide direct support to employees for day-to-day system issues, including troubleshooting, password resets, and minor configuration adjustments.Manage and maintain user permissions and access control across all company systems and software, ensuring compliance with IT and departmental SOPs.
- Build and configure small-scale solutions such as reports, dashboards, and workflows, while focusing on system efficiency and usability for departments.
- Lead testing and validation of all system changes, documenting results in alignment with IT standards before rollout.
- Support system integrations through APIs and scripts, ensuring data flows and automations operate reliably across platforms.
- Contribute to system documentation, including configuration details, change logs, and access records, while following IT Director approval processes.
- Partner with department managers to understand workflows, identify system gaps, and propose technical solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Escalate larger builds, technical risks, or system conflicts to the IT Director or developers, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and within policy.
- Monitor performance and stability of company systems, proactively flagging risks, inefficiencies, or downtime to the IT Director.
- Maintain alignment between company-wide IT standards, departmental workflows, and system capabilities.
- Ability to be successful in Tier 1 & 2 level projects

- Documentation of system changes, permissions, and configurations is clear, up to date, and easily auditable.
- The IT Director receives escalations only when necessary, with most day-to-day support, changes, and integrations resolved independently by the Systems Administrator.
- Company systems remain stable, secure, and continuously optimized to meet both current operational needs and future growth requirements.
