Medication Aide/Caregiver — Full-Time Weekdays

Job Summary
Greystone Manor is seeking a compassionate, dependable Medication Aide/Caregiver to join our small residential care home. With a 1:3 caregiver-to-resident ratio, you will have time to build meaningful relationships and provide personalized care in a comfortable, home-like setting.
This position includes medication administration, personal care, meal preparation, companionship, and light housekeeping. Our ideal candidate is patient, organized, and comfortable supporting older adults, including residents living with dementia.
Schedule
Two weekday schedule options are available:
- Four 10-hour shifts: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with the regular weekday off agreed upon at hire.
- Five 8-hour shifts: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal break with coverage provided.
Break arrangements and the final schedule will be confirmed before hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, mobility, and transfers while respecting their dignity and independence.
- Administer medications as authorized and directed, maintain accurate medication records, and communicate refill needs to the nurse or administrator.
- Prepare meals and snacks according to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
- Complete light housekeeping, laundry, and routine cleaning.
- Provide companionship and encourage meaningful activities and social engagement.
- Support residents living with dementia through patience, reassurance, and respectful redirection.
- Follow resident care plans, infection-control practices, and fall-prevention measures.
- Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ condition to the nurse or administrator.
- Maintain accurate care records and protect resident confidentiality.
- Communicate professionally with residents, families, and the care team.
Qualifications
- Current Nebraska Medication Aide status appropriate for assigned duties.
- Previous experience in assisted living, residential care, long-term care, or home care preferred.
- Dementia care experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and safe medication practices.
- Patience, empathy, dependability, and clear communication skills.
- Ability to follow care plans, work independently, and respond appropriately to residents’ needs.
- Ability to assist safely with mobility and transfers, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before independent resident assignment.
